Biography
General Assignment Reporter
Gail Levy joined the 7News team in July 2023 as a general assignment reporter. She is thrilled to be back in South Florida, close to her hometown of Palm Beach Gardens where most of her family lives.
She kick started her career after graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University. Go Noles!
She landed her first job in TV News in Panama City Beach, where just four months into her time there, Hurricane Michael ravaged the area. It was there she realized the power of journalism and how it can aid people by getting needed resources to an area in need. Her coverage of the storm landed her an Associated Press award.
After her time in the Panhandle, she made it a little closer to home with a job in Fort Myers. Gail covered a vast variety of stories from the gubernatorial election to the Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie case. During her time there she was also covering important stories in the community before, during, and after Hurricane Ian made its devastating landfall.
Gail is beyond happy to call Miami home. You can catch her trying out every new restaurant and then going to every workout class to make up for eating all the delicious food this city has to offer. If you catch her out eating and look below the table (or in the seat next to her), you’re sure to find her cocker spaniel, Maggie-Mae. That’s her partner in crime who is usually everywhere with Gail, besides work!
