What do you like best about Clio?

As a legal assistant at a growing small law firm, managing our increasing caseload was a challenge—until we started using Clio. It’s been a true game changer in terms of efficiency and ease of use.

What do you dislike about Clio?

I would love to see more customization options, particularly the ability to hide features we don't use, such as time entry and hourly billing.

What problems is Clio solving and how is that benefiting you?

We’ve mostly benefited from moving away from a "old-school" paper-based workflow—everything is now stored digitally and easily accessible in one place.

We used to spend hours opening new files. Now, with Clio's document drafting, we save hours of work.

Clio also tackles the issue of disorganized case management. It helps us keep track of client information, deadlines, and communications, so nothing falls through the cracks. For me personally, setting tasks in Clio helps me meet deadlines efficiently.

What do you like best about LawPay?

The best thing about LawPay is the integrated Pay Later option. It offers our clients not only ways to pay via credit card and electronic checks, but also via a pay later option which essentially is a small loan through one of their affiliiates and approval is same day, with funds going straight to our account. What do you dislike about LawPay?

Credit Card processing fees can be a nuance, but that goes with most merchant card processors. although they have an option to charge the client processing fees, there are some limitations and payments made via LawPay doesn't automatically go into our Legal Practice Manageement Software, Clio Manage. What do you like best about MyCase?

ease to set up cases; ease to set up leads/contacts; easy to tweak if the program allows; ease of intake forms; billing is easier as you can email them all from your computer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MyCase?

Customer service takes too long now; call backs take a day or more; can't customize texting so you can control who sees it and should be by the attorney and paralegal. This feature is horrible for a family law firm, as the clients abuse it daily. If you block them from texting, it's deletes it "all", which is a form of malpractice, as now you longer have record of communication with your client. If you turn off notifications, you don't see any texts from any client then. Making appointments is way too clunky and it's smooth. The process to set up a lead, then make an appointment, with sending intake forms, takes too long. Needs to be a simple way to do these from the calendar screen, but MyCase forces you to go back and fill out the "lead information" first. Which doens't work either, as the clients want to establish if you can accomodate them with an appointment that works for them. Anytime we call to suggest something, it's never happens. We have been in practice for over 28 years and brought on MyCase at the onset of Covid as it is cloud based. MyCase never attempts any improvments that we have suggested. But, because it's cloud based, we have many clients that won't use the portal or do anything on through MyCase, because they don't trust it, which in turns causes more work for us. What do you like best about Assembly Neos?

Neo's is amazing. It helps me keep track of my cases and the work that is done and still needed to be done. I can text and email my clients straight from Neo's. I can save all my emails, texts and notes from here. The text feature will notify you if the message went through or not. We have been able to upload our letters to the program and be able to generate each one for our clients, we can even open the generated letters and change the letter. It helps cut down the time of having to produce each letter one by one and cut down on the basic needs of inputting name, address etc. Neos has a calendar setting to set dates for clients and even write notes to other co-workers. Logging in and out is very easy and case reminders come up when you log in everyday. Time keeping can be put for each case if you need to keep time for hourly cases for civil or criminal cases. Cost for each case can be calculated and input in the system, to make everything easier for the accountant. It certainly can be customizable to your office. What do you dislike about Assembly Neos?

The updates sometimes take away the way we make our reports and case list. We don't have much say in what they update sometimes the updates are refreshing and helpful but lately it has madeit a little difficult for my office to run reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are able to keep track of the work that's done on each file. All work is saved and tagged on each clients file. We are able to set calendar reminders and dates. We are able to leave notes on what was spoken about with clients and send text messages as follow ups. We are notified if the text message went through or not. Accessing clients in the address book. For example, when you try to look up a client in the address book or the 'Search for Project' section, if you misspell the clients name, even by one letter, it will pull up a list of irrelevant names; names that aren't even close to what I type in. What problems is Filevine solving and how is that benefiting you?

They are doing a great job of incorporating features that prevent us from having to use outside resources to accomplish a task. For example, the sidebar feature makes it easy for my team to communicate about a specific case by simply starting a sidebar chat. What do you dislike about CASEpeer?

Nearly everything about the software seems mid-tier, other than the price (which the actual price is way too high). The value is not where it should be.

The inability to customize with custom fields is very problematic. Most features they offer are about 80% close to being very good but require additional services or add-ons or lack the customizability needed. The potential is there, but continued development seems to be lacking, particularly considering the price. Customer support is okay, but you must use it quite a bit because of the numerous gaps in the product between what personal injury lawyers need and what CasePeer currently provides. As is, it should be sold as a mid-tier platform and priced as such. Had I been the price was going to be substantially higher than we agreed, I would have gone with another platform or stayed with my old one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the things I like about it the most is it is cloud-based and very easy to use. Anybody that has ever downloaded an app on their phone can use CloudLex. It's incredibly user-friendly. The training on CloudLex for a new employee takes about 30 minutes to an hour because it's tailored for personal injury law. This is one of my favorite things about it. The reporting functionality in CloudLex helps me understand the metrics and cuts out a step from having to do that outside of your case management software. AppColl's Support is wonderful! The ability to validate the data with the USPTO & Espacenet. Letter generation with the valid data makes mistakes a thing of the past. Importing and updating massive changes throughout the database with ease and speed. Saving time with automatically generating and sending the IP Staff dockets at a set time. This allows small, two-person firms like mine the ability to present a professional-looking invoicing solution to our clients. The integrated payment options help us get paid more quickly. Bill4Time is also very responsive on those rare occasions when we've experienced a glitch or need customer support, which has been rare (maybe twice in the past 12 years). The platform allows you to customize and generate reports--so many, in fact, that I have not used them all. Bill4Time also seems very committed to continually improving and upgrading its features but without substantially raising the cost to users like me. What do you dislike about Bill4Time?
