We don’t normally hear the words “brainy” and “reality television” in the same sentence, but a new competition show is testing the limits of ordinary people with extraordinary abilities. One of those contestants is coming from South Florida.
“Superhuman,” the newest show to hit FOX, is a competition that tests the limits of people with unique, extraordinary talents.
Kal Penn: “We have 12 contestants, and when I say they have super human abilities, I mean things like, we’ve got a chef that can take a bite of a dish and tell you all of the ingredients that are in it just by tasting it.”
Kal Penn hosts the two-hour show where contestants are battling it out for $100,000.
Mike Tyson: “This is spooky stuff, man.”
Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, actress Mary Lynn Rajskub and neurosurgeon Dr. Raul Jandial are the three guest panelists who will help the audience decide who wins.
Kal Penn: “I don’t think there’s anything like it on TV, and that’s what I like about it. We’re celebrating people’s unique traits.”
And one of those unique people is from right here in South Florida. Yusnier Viera will be battling it out and calls himself a “mathlete.”
Yusnier Viera: “I have three Guinness World Records doing mental math.”
One of the many things he can do: if you tell him any date, past or future, he can tell you the exact day of the week it falls on. So we tested him out.
Yusnier Viera: “Aug. 4, 1956 was a Saturday. This year it was a Tuesday.”
Each of the 12 contestants possess a different superhuman ability, but you’ll have to tune in to find out which one will take home the grand prize.
Kal Penn: “It’s a nice night of watching TV and rooting for these people to really succeed at what they’re doing.”
Get ready to get your brain on, ’cause “Superhuman” is airs right after Deco.
