What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

I love that I can do multiple things for one invoice in one system. I have to use Intacct every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

I dislike how long it initially takes to get to the needed pages. Having to open multiple tabs makes searching easier and cuts down on the amount of time I spend waiting for the page to load. It would be easier for me if everything I needed to do with one invoice could be done from the same page. I frequently have to refund invoices, and this can't be done from Intacct. I have to go to Intacct to find the information and take it to Braintree (both EFT and CC versions). There's about a week's waiting period for everything to process and sync; then I have to use Intacct to verse on one page and reprocess on another. It isn't very easy to learn at first either. Since there are so many back and forth steps, a lot of manual fixes, one thing at a time, it takes a lot of patience and asking questions. It helps me find copies of invoices for customers and reverse and reprocess invoices. All of these tasks help the customer get invoices paid and make sure the right customer is paying. The down sides that we encounter lie within in the advanced inventory management. There is a need within our organization to exlude specific locations or customers settings from reorder point auto-calculate functions. What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

First and foremost, the user interface is extremely user friendly and easy to pick up which is something I haven't been able to say for any of the time tracking tools I have used in the past. It's very clear to see a holistic view of your time period and all of the assignments you charged your time to. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

It's difficult to see how much PTO or Vacation I have used. I would love to see that metric available always. In order to find that info, I have to run a report and manually calculate how much time I have charged to those categories. What do you like best about Rillet?

Previously we calculated deferred revenue manually each month. This worked ok when it wasn't that many customers but was increasing in complexity as customer count grew quickly. Unique deal structures (split payments, quarterly invoices etc) were also becoming more common. Rillet calculates our deferred revenue automatically, handles all customer invoices and automatically books the JEs. We also appreciate the ability to run prepaids directly in the software. We like both the depth of features across the varied modules and the flexibility of the platform to be extended/modified. We also like the partner-based model, as that is what we have had for years with Dynamics SL. With our extensive SL experience, we have found our implementation of Acumatica to be easier than we expected.

Overall, we do have significant complaints about Acumatica. I would say we would like to see more low-code/no-code workflow capabilities across the platform. We are leveraging Acumatica to be our primary accounting system as well as a basis for our operational client billing and management sytem in the Home Care industry. Prior to Kosh, we were manually reconciling finance transactions. Given our scale of operations, it was quite a tedious task. Using Kosh we have completely automated the reconciliation process but have also improved the other related workflows. The platform is quite configurable. What do you like best about FloQast?

In 2023, we implemented FloQast to streamline our month-end close process. The checklist feature has been invaluable for ensuring organization and task completion, eliminating the manual oversight needed with our previous Excel-based approach. FloQast’s task assignment and automated reminders have lightened management’s workload, while its balance sheet reconciliation tool, which syncs with our ERP’s trial balance, has reduced errors and prevented potential audit issues by notifying preparers and reviewers of discrepancies.

Approximately a year after adopting FloQast for closing, we transitioned our SOX compliance system from AuditBoard to FloQast Compliance. Initially hesitant, we worked closely with the FloQast team, who refined the compliance tool based on our and our auditors’ feedback. After these enhancements, we received approval from our auditors to proceed with FloQast Compliance. Though still in the early stages of our first audit cycle, we’re pleased with its performance. While there’s a learning curve after 10 years with AuditBoard, FloQast Compliance has proven functional and reliable, with a responsive team that addresses enhancement requests effectively. What do you dislike about FloQast?

FloQast has introduced substantial efficiencies to our close process by providing real-time visibility into status updates, enhancing collaboration between our finance and accounting departments. Bank feeds are through Yodlee for Australian users - this can take up to a week to fetch new transactions, or, have to be manually refreshed with accounts protected by 2FA. This is an issue I have raised with our bank and Zoho, but seems to be taking longer than expected to resolve. This issue isn't the wort to have, just inconvenient at times. Switching to Campfire from Netsuite has been an absolute game-changer. As a CFO running a multi-currency, multi-legal entity operation, I’ve dealt with clunky, frustrating accounting software before. Campfire? A totally different story.

This platform is a dream—it’s intuitive, fast, and actually fun to use. I used to dread logging into my old system, but now? I look forward to it. Campfire helps us get more done with fewer headaches, and that’s everything in today’s “do-more-with-less” world.

Even better, Campfire is a new player in the space, and they’re already shaking things up. What makes Abound great is their powerful API. Their latest V3 API is very well-structured - the endpoints are intuitive, properly organized and not bloated. This made integration with our systems a breeze, there was much less technical overhead required on our end. Another major strength is their responsiveness to feedback and eagerness to improve - Abound reached out to us for feedback on their V2 API to identify the pain points and addressed all of them in the subsequent release, making our lives during the tax filing season much easier. What do you dislike about Abound?

We use Abound for our tax filing purposes, especially 1099 filing and the related TIN verification process.

When it comes to 1099 filing, we have been able to easily integrate their API with our core backend systems. This allows us to automatically file documents, handle corrections and voids with little to no manual work. As for the TIN verification service, it is very fast and straightforward to use, which helps us reduce the risk of errors and ensure compliance.

I love that this product is easy to set up and use. I have a need to track time to the minute, and this makes it simple. I need to see my reports by time, and be able to separate projects within clients by time. This also allows for easy invoicing and ease of keeping track of those invoices. I don't need every function under. the sun. What it does, it does well for me at a reasonable price. I've had one minor issue to connect with customer support, and they were super responsive. Easy to use and fast tool. It took little time to setup (from an accounting standpoint) and works on all platforms (mobile, windows & mac). Since it's cloud-based, works from everywhere I go. What do you dislike about Kashoo?

The mobile app doesn't yet support businesses which have multiple currency transactions. This is something they're aware of and are working on. I've been using this for 9 years, new features are far between. I wish there were more external integrations, as well as a visual editor to produce custom styled invoices. Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:

Try it, you'll love it. Even if you're not well versed in accounting, the layout makes for easy management of your business accounting. For more complicated entries, I've simply relied on a quick call to an accounting firm and took care of the entry. So even more complex entries are well handled. Use the mobile application to understand the full potential of Kashoo. There's a new revamped version soon to be released that will include better dashboards and automated data entry, so look forward to this. Their online webinars are totally worth checking out. What do you like best about Bonsai?

Honestly, for the price I'm paying, the product is solid. I've had my gripes with their support team and some of the UI changes they've made over the past year, but overall, they're addressing a critical business function that's remained affordable even as my team has expanded. The ability to track my time and have the hours automatically populate into an invoice has been incredibly time-saving. Offering online payments while passing on fees to clients who choose that option has been a great feature as well. Overall, the templates and integrations have made the product very enjoyable to use, and it's become so essential that I actually take the time to reach out to customer support and provide feedback when things aren't working correctly. Customer support can be difficult to work with, whether it’s their staff not knowing how some features work, providing incorrect responses, or giving canned answers for the wrong issue. What do you like best about ZarMoney?

The layout and screen navigation makes sense. For example I can go from entering an invoice for an existing customer to editing the customer file and back to the invoice with just a click or two. There is allowance to create and use some customized fields. We use the custom field feature for things like customer PO number, tracking number and our website order number. What do you like best about Avalara?

My favorite part of using Avatax is that they are comprehensive. We no longer have to collect the data and upload it into a program or try to figure it out on our own. They figure the tax on each order, create reports at the end of every month and then file with each state and locality which we are registered with. I also like that we can easily add new items and they will be taxed correctly because of the detailed definitions on each tax code Avalara uses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Avalara?

I haven't really found anything that I dislike. Sometimes sorting out issues can be a challenge, but that is true of any program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Avalara solving and how is that benefiting you?

Now instead of taking a full week for the filing of taxes it only takes us a day. The accuracy of our filings and taxation of items is much better now and this makes our customers much happier. What do you like best about Deltek Costpoint?

Being a government contractor and being compliant with all the regulations required for being a government contractor, it is critical to have a system that can handle and provide accurate, reliable, quick data to report to the government. Costpoint allows indirect rates to be built in the system that fit the need of the company. Every company is different so having flexibility is critical to be successful. The system brings in planning, contracts, billing, receivables, payables, timesheets, expense reports, and everything required to be successful in accounting. Built into Costpoint also is a report writer that allows you to build reports on any data that is in the system. This allows you to easily custom reports for customers or build analytic dashboards for your executive team. In addition, Deltek University provides training tools to ensure all your staff can be properly trained and up to date on everything they do in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Costpoint?

The biggest downfall of Costpoint is planning. It is still a little buggy but if that is the worst thing of the whole system that is not bad. The rest of the system is great. Another area that Deltek needs to integrate into Costpoint is Cobra the project management system (EVMS). I believe this is in the horizon in the next 2 years but the fact this is a stand alone system and not integrated is painful when you get a new project and have to set-up instead of having it feed from Costpoint to that module. What problems is Deltek Costpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem I am solving with Deltek is Indirect Rate models and ensuring rates are built properly to ensure Incurred Cost submissions can be prepared and turned into DCAA timely. This is a huge problem to solve if you are in excel and need to get out of excel. I have a system that now ensures the model from DCAA has everything properly recorded based on my accounting system.
